The NEW 2025 Ibis RIPLEY

The Nitty Gritty

The 2025 Ibis Cycles Ripley continues to set the benchmark for mid-travel trail bikes, combining nimbleness, efficiency, and all-around capability. The Ripley was our first blockbuster bike at the WORKSHOP in 2014. We have a deep affinity for this bike (we go back some time with each other). With most iterations of this bike, we’ve seen 2 major overhauls on our favorite bike. In our opinion, this will be the 3rd and maybe the most well-thought-out version of this bike. The main question we always ask is “Did this bike make me ride faster or have more fun?” When you demo this bike, you will answer that question with ease.

The new Ripley is an updated carbon frame and boasts improved stiffness that enhances overall performance without compromising its legendary playful ride. The aggressive handling is due to a slack 64.9° head tube angle. A steep 77.4–77.9° seat tube angle ensures efficiency due to a perfect center of body mass over the bottom bracket on our punchy local climbs. This geometry is a slight tweak from the past version but is in line with how we felt they needed to move with the mid-travel bike category. With a 130mm DW-Link rear suspension and a 140 mm fork (34 to 36mm stanchions max), the Ripley delivers a balanced ride for everything from flowing Vermont singletrack to Northern NJ rock tech. It rips in every direction.

Who’s it For?

Built to tackle various terrains, the Ripley offers a versatile platform for riders seeking an all-day trail machine. Its durable frame is complemented by build offerings from SRAM or Shimano build kits. A redesigned rear triangle improves tire clearance, allowing up to 2.6-inch tires. The Ripley’s precision handling and snappy responsiveness make it super fun to ride, whether ripping through tight switchbacks or rolling over chunder. The 2025 Ibis Ripley is a testament to Ibis' commitment to blending innovation and performance, delivering a trail bike that's ready for any adventure.

Size Specific Build, New Sizes & MUlletude
(from Ibis)

Ibis states “Every rider deserves the same great ride feel, no matter their height or proportions. Ibis uses size-specific seat tube angles and suspension kinematics to bring incredible balance and speed to all sizes of riders. Even chainstay length and bottom bracket height are tailored to each frame size.”

They added a third size in the middle of the bell curve to provide a fit that’s just right. With 80% of Ibis riders falling between 5’5” and 6’0”, they introduced a new "Extra-Medium" size. The extra-medium (size 3) now sits in the middle of our size range, while our size five remains the traditional XL.

They’ve also added more adjustability with a new flip-chip - now you can run 29” or 27.5”/29” mixed (MX) wheels on all sizes without compromising the geometry. The Ripley ships with 29” wheels.

Ibis added a geometry flip chip for multiple wheel sizes.
