Here's a few places we recommend for you to ride that are family and kid friendly

Saddle River Bike Path, Saddlebrook, NJ

This is a great place for families to ride together on a scenic path along the Saddle River. Make sure to check out the grist mill along the way. 

  • Training wheel friendly

  • Trailer friendly

  • Facilities available 

  • Minimal Hills

  • Can be busy on the weekends

  • Some dirt paths and beginner mountain bike options

Overpeck County Park, Leonia, NJ

This is a great place to teach your young ones how to ride and visit the dinosaur museum in the same day.

  • Training wheel friendly

  • Trailer friendly

  • Facilities and concessions available

  • No Hills


Joseph B. Clarke Rail Trail, Sparkill, NY

This is one of our favorite places to ride in Rockland County, just 15 minutes north of Tenafly.  This ride has two options:

1. Start at Oak Tree Road in Tappan, NY just north of the border, and go Northwest or left at the split in Sparkill. This will take you approximately 3 miles to Orangeburg.

  • Training wheel friendly

  • Trailer friendly 

  • Minimal Hills

2. Same starting point but make a very slight right in Sparkill which will take you Northeast towards the Hudson River 6 miles to Nyack along the Old Erie Path.

  • A gravel path is not good for training wheels

  • Trailer friendly

  • Slight elevation

  • No facilities

  • The parking lot on Oak Tree is small

  • Parking is available in Sparkill,NY

  • Food options in Sparkill, NY
